DETROIT AUTO SHOW: Could ORANGE Be The Lexus LFA's Color?

DETROIT AUTO SHOW: Could ORANGE Be The Lexus LFA's Color?
Until recently, we mostly saw the Lexus LFA in a limited set of colors. After making its rounds on the auto show circuit last year we got a taste of the LFA in matte black and pearl white, which interestingly enough was the same car.

Although Lexus touts that the LFA can be ordered in just about any color under the sun, we really haven't seen any because production was suppose to start up just last month. It also doesn't help when most people aren't being that adventurous. Except for the rumored guy in the midwest U.S. who supposedly went for the hot pink color.

Until now we've seen the white, matte black, yellow, red and a gorgeous blue. Now we get to add another one to the short list, orange.

Could ORANGE be the LFA's color?

uhm... is this seriously an article? There was an lfa at the show and this is all you could come up with so you could post something about it?

@Joe

As I wrote in the 650i story beneath this one, the show's over for the press and today we're talking about what interested us at the show.

The orange LFA caught our eye.

Nice and good job covering the show I appreciate the effort and time you put into it.

Looks like a jack-o-latern. Can you dig it BD.

Looks dated. The LF-A's styling looks like it should belong in the same class as the Nissan GT-R.

A Ferrari 458(as well as several other cars) craps all over that the LF-A in looks, performance, prestige, and the 458 costs way less. The LF-A just needs to go away. At least the LF-A sounds nicer.

Fear of what? Inferiority?

I'll take this car in any color! @LexSucks: has there been an official comparison between the LF-A and the Ferarri 458?

@Black

I wouldn't say wrecked but it did beat it.

"has there been an official comparison between the LF-A and the Ferarri 458?"

- There doesn't need to be one. The LF-A will get beat. It was give and take between the Audi R8 v10 and the LF-A when SpeedTV compared them on "Supercar Challenge". The 458 would wipe the floor with both of them.

The LF-A doesn't even outperform a Z06 Corvette much less a 458 italia.

So the tests were rigged? Give me a break. And what the heck does SpeedTV "contest" have to do with anything? I'm talking about "supercar challenge".

Uh yeah I think it does have an edge on the Z06, but the Zr1 is another story

What an ugly car.

The performance is certainly impressive, but the design is just not to my liking.
