Tata Nano Sales Rebound In A Big Way After Financing Options Become Available

Tata Nano sales finally started showing upward trend. During last month Tata Nano managed to attract over 5700 buyers, which 10 fold growth compared to previous month. Responding to the sudden demand surge Tata Motors revised the production target of Nano by 50 percent. In December 2010 the production was 200 units daily and in January 2011 the production has gone up to 300 units per day. Again the production levels may go up in coming days. According to news reports Tata Motors is planning to put Nano production on fast track, by March 2011 company planning to achieve 21000 units monthly sales.

A lot of competition in it's home market for cars, but the Nano is seen as an alternative to 2-wheelers. I think one has to put that into perspective whenever thinking about it's reason to exist.

TATA should ink a deal with IKEA and sell this car in the US at it's stores. The NANO appeals to my minimalist side just like the IKEA brand and I can see it as a third vehicle in US households.
Living in a semi-urban area of Fort Lauderdale it would be great to jet off to the beach or park without worrying about getting sand and suntan oil on the seats of my Audi Q5. Here in Fort Lauderdale low-speed vehicles are allowed on streets with posted speed limits of 40MPH or less. The NANO would have no trouble fitting in here along with the GEM electric cars running around the city. The NANO would offer more protection than a typical scooter we often same the roads with here also. The NANO has a place here in the US auto mix of vehicles.
