Nice friggin car. Fastest production vehicle for sure. Just amazing what they can do with it modified. Not to mention the interior...second to none! Now if only I were super rich!!! This car will make McLaren, AMG, M, Saleen, etc scratch their heads for years.
So Tha...which robot? There were allot of robots in that movie....lol.

Does any one actually have the data. I have been waiting for an actual test of the Veyron.

who's shellin out a minimum of $1.2 mil for this car to trounce on it but from all accounts it may be a bit of a pig but you're smokin any one you come up against and I've heard that the handling is not Lotus ELise quick but it's solid through anything you wanna throw aat it and with that much power under my foot that's good enough for me

When this first came out Car and Driver did a really good report on it. The funny part was when he got all the way to the end of the report he talked about MPG and figured that you'd need to make sure you always had a second car following with a gas can or never go more than 20 miles or so without a gas station near.
It is a very nice looking car. Congrats to Bugatti for designing something different.

The Veyron has a huge fuel tank. 100 l or 26.4 gallons. I have read that if you go full speed, it will run the fuel tank dry in 12 minutes. But, at 250 mph, you will go 50 miles in 12. minutes.

If you are referring to the movie "I Robot" from the summer of 2004, the car used in the movie was a futuristic Audi design supposedly from the year 2032. Unlike many movie cars this one was designed by an actual Audi design team from Europe. I think the car is still on display at the Audi Mobile in Ingolstadt Germany.
Since Audi was going for something totally futuristic and happens to be the current owner of Bugatti, it shouldn't be any suprize that the disign DNA appears similar to that of outragous and futuristic Bugatti.

this car is somewhat garbage...it weighs three tons...and cannot handle like any normal sports car..even though with a top speed like that it is obviously trying to get into that area...look at how inefficient this car is...8.0L W16 engine with 4 turbos kicks out just over 1000hp...now look at the koenigsegg ccr...4.7 v8...supercharged and it kicks out 806hp...now which is more of an engineering marvel? the ccr. and not to mention that the ccr was just recently transformed into a sexier and bolder ccx...which is lighter and hence...faster. (no changes to the engin btw...just the body.)

The aerodynamic package is what's impressive about the Bugatti Veyron. No other current production car in the world has been tested at 250+ mph and certified safe for US consumption. There are no wind tunnels in the world that can even test at those speeds. Aircraft wind tunnels are different because (hopefully) you never have to factor in the effects of the ground. The fastest rolling road wind tunnels can only test up to about 210mph. Anything above that, you need to pay a test driver to do. Now, I don't know about you, but getting into a vehicle and running it up to 250+ mph not knowing whether or not it'll go airborne takes some "you know what". I guess you kind of got to have some Chuck Yeager in ya! Anyway, as it turns out, the car needs to reduce downforce significantly to reach 250+ mph. So it kind of delicately balances weight, lift, drag, and horsepower to get there. No sudden moves allowed at that speed. Make sure you've got lots of room then squeeze the trigger. Oh, and by the way, hitting the brakes at 250 is more like pulling the chute on a pro-stock dragster. The aerodynamic package goes into extreme overkill by raising an aerodynamic speed brake long before the pads start gripping the rotors. There is simply no other car out there with this kind of capability.
If you remember anything from Calculus, then you might remember the term exponential. The faster you want to go, the power to get you there climbs "exponentially". So does the size of the brakes, the amount of fuel, the number of cooling systems the car will need, etc.
