Mercedes-Benz’s twin turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine will power the recently unveiled S 63 AMG, CL 63 AMG and CLS 63 AMG, with ratings between 525 hp and 577 hp. However sources say that the successor to the SLK55 AMG that will be showcased at next year's Frankfurt motor show will receive a yet-to-be revealed naturally aspirated version of Mercedes-Benz's new 5.5-liter V8. The new performance roadster has been tuned by AMG's powertrain department.

Wait, the 63 series cars (which used to have a 6.2L engine) will now have a 5.5L engine but still retain the previous numbering?

Who in their marketing department, thought this was right and got the okay to do this? I guess we're going back to the days of the 300E 2.4L
