Photo Gallery: BMW's '666'? The 2007 Infiniti G35

“This new 2007 G35 takes up where the original began – with a clear, unique vision,” said Mr. Ghosn. “It breaks new ground in luxury, styling, performance, quality and craftsmanship.”

The G’s new exterior continues the previous model’s vibrant design theme with clean, athletic styling. Key design elements include sculpted grille blades, iconic headlights and taillights and crisp character lines.

Inside, the all-new interior design is refined, inviting and offers a new level of modern warmth and hospitality. The G interior also offers unique features such as the white-and-violet Fine Vision gauge illumination and high-touch, textured aluminum-alloy trim with “Washi” (traditional Japanese handmade paper) patterning.

Available advanced technologies include RearView Monitor, a touch screen navigation system with available real-time traffic and the audiophile-quality Infiniti Studio on Wheels™ by Bose®, combining the industry’s first 3-way front door speaker array using 10-inch woofers with an audiophile quality head unit incorporating a 24-bit Burr Brown® Digital Audio Converter.

The heart of the G35 remains its advanced engine, platform and drivetrain, anchored by the “next generation” of the award-winning VQ-series 3.5-liter DOHC V6, now rated at an estimated 300-plus horsepower*. The standard V6 is mated to a choice of a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode and Downshift Rev Matching or close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission. Solid magnesium paddle shifters are standard on the G35 Sport A/T model.

The G’s second generation FM (Front Mid-ship) platform features a 4-wheel independent suspension with lightweight aluminum components and improved body stiffness. The 2007 G35 is also offered with Infiniti “intelligent” all-wheel drive system.

Comfort and convenience features include standard Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, available Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS), wood trim and Intelligent Cruise Control with Preview Braking.

Good thing Mercedes did not put a patent on the look of the CLS or Infiniti would be paying up the ying/yang for the G and M.

A baby M45. Hmm scale it at 75% and call it a G35.... I hope the build quality is better than the current model.

I heard from from an Infiniti dealer that the car is rumored to have 325hp.

Anyone else?

If so.....then thats an AMAZING bargain for this class.

God the horsepower war is out of control !!!!

300+ horsepower? Please! Give me 250 horsepower and 260lb feet of torque. First, you'll never use all the horsepower unless you plan on being locked up. That is the reality. Second, the current G is a heavy gas guzzler, with a poor choice of colors and a so-so interior. The new one looks prettier, inside and out, but will decidedly not be better with gas-mileage.

The G35 sales are down. The sales will fall even further with this 2007 model. It looks to much like it's predecessor. The only hope is the rumored 325hp engine is true, because that may sway some buyers away from Lexus not BMW. It's going to take a lot more than Infinti's rumored 325hp engine to sway buyers away from BMW's new 335i.

wow that does look nice, although it is a blantant rip off of the CLS, not nearly as striking however. Can't beat the looks of the CLS, performance maybe, but it looks so sleek and elegant, I love it, and I typically hate MB.

Let's call the BMW 325 what is is -- a gutless wonder. I almost fell asleep test driving it. If you want to spend 330i money, then heap scorn on the G35, sure. But for $38k, the G35 will trounce a 325 and will handle freer than the over-protective IS350. When you actually consider buying a car in this class, the G35 starts to shine. For window-shopping... sure, stare at bmw.com all day.

Thank you Dave! I mean the G35 is a sportier car than the 3 Series. The 3 Series has limited horsepower, and if you want 300+ horsepower you need to buy the M3 which costs way more.

On the other hand,
In a G35, it cost less and you are getting more horsepower than any other car in that class. I mean the IS350 has grat handling, but it doesnt come with a manual transmission.

Did you know that the current G35 has 290 hp? Infiniti is at a huge advantage because of the great horsepower in their cars! Look the 3 Series has a coupe... the Is doesn't and the G35 does.

The price of the G35 will stay way below the price of a 325Ci. It will have more horsepower and it will be more sporty.

the price of the G35 will be MUCH MUCH lower than any other car in its class.

In conclusion G35's RULE!

When I said:

"Did you know that the current G35 has 290 hp? Infiniti is at a huge advantage because of the great horsepower in their cars! Look the 3 Series has a coupe... the Is doesn't and the G35 does."

I mean that BMW does have a coupe competator for the G35 and Lexus doesnt.

I don't know if you noticed the little chrome spoiler and whats on it. You see a little square?
What the heck is it? At first I thought it was the rear backup camera, but it's not becaise it is located near the rear liscense plate.

WHAT IS THIS SQUARE FOR?
Oh yeah and they need to really change those wheels!

BMW purists get hung up when they think other car makers are out to "top" the 3-series. The entire car industry isn't alive to "beat" BMW. Maybe marketing people at Lexus, Infinit, etc. play into this. But the fact is, you don't have to "beat" the 330i to make a lot of money. The G35, the IS350... they "lack" things the 330i has. But that's by choice. You don't see carbon copies of the 3-series because lots of people want slightly bigger, more powerful cars with less choppy ride, better reliability etc. To each his own. If I wanted pure performance, I would get a BMW, no question. It's a great car. But BMW fans, it ain't all about you.

I think this is a Lexus ES350 competator... You can still compare the beutiful ES to the G35, and the 3 Series can't you?

ES350 Still RULES! It is so nice though... I saw one yesterday on the street and it looks so nice. And guess waht I have been admiring it this whole time because I look and see one every single day out the window 'cause my neighbors got one!

It's great, but If I had a choice between a G35 and an ES350 I would choose the ES350, and I know you would to!
