Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi buy Super Bowl ads to put a dent on Lexus dominance
In an attempt to beat Lexus in the sales race, Mercedes-Benz has sought tennis star Serena Williams and a tweeting mom from suburban Chicago to add to the online buzz of its first advertising appearance during the Super Bowl telecast. During the Feb. 6 broadcast of the American football championship, there will also be ads from BMW AG and Volkswagen AG's Audi. This is actually the first time that all three German luxury brands have ads for the event. The Nielsen Co. said that last year, advertisers paid $3 million for a 30-second slot.

Whomever wrote that (steph?) needs to stick to blogging about silly stuff and leave the car news to professionals. Sounds like nothing but factpinions and speculations to me.

So long as lexus is looked down upon as nothing but the gussied-up toyotas that they are, and not true competition to either, I doubt BMW or benz gives a sh*t about them.

They need more than some tv ads to try and take the sales crown from Lexus.

"sales crown from Lexus."

Toyota Camry Deluxe (ES) and Toyota Harrier (RX) = nearly 70% of Lexus sales in the US.

Amazing!

I doubt they are advertising during the Super Bowl to "put a dent of Lexus dominance". I'm sure they are not aiming at Lexus, but rather, you guys are just trying to drum up pointless arguments.
