The audio system is the first that will allow you to rip your cd' right into the unit.

That is fine till the SD card goes obsolete. I prefer the USB plug in the VW for now at least it has been around a while and my Ipod will interface into it.

USB should be the way to go, since it is the easiest and 'universal' port. Otherwise you'll have those 13 card reader slots that we have on our computers, in our cars. Let me plug in my 1G stick and go at it with hours of music.

Your problem with the DVD player in your Cabrio is the same as those who have NAV systems in many other vehicles. Especially with BMW (which I don't understand) they make a slot on the front of the console for the Navigation DVD, but it doesn't play DVD's. How often do you realy put in a Nav DVD? Why put a spot on the console that is almost never used unless your 'updating' your system.

Car makers sure love putting stuff like that in, making people think they can play DVD's on their NAV screen.
