RUMOR: Can 00R's Dream Come True? BMW Thinking About An M3 Wagon
In 2010, especially the later half, there was an emerging trend: wagons were coming from all sorts of directions. Even for cars that didn't seem to make sense, like the Cadillac CTS-V. Totally awesome concept and given that I like the BMW X5/6M, I think the V Wagon is genius. Not so sure if many others agree.

However, rumors are hinting that another "M" product may be getting the wagon treatment. Although BMW produced an E60 M5 wagon, it never made its way stateside. Neither did the E39 M5 wagon, which didn't even become a reality -- wompwomp.

Now however, word on the street suggests that BMW could be considering an M3 wagon. Let's cross our fingers and pray to the "M" gods, I suppose.

We have seen BMW build limited edition runs of the ///M3 in many markets. From the ///M3 “Edition”, to the “Tiger Edition” in China and even the matte grey version for the US, so why not build a “Sportwagon” ///M3? Rumors are floating around that ///M may be toying with this idea and that they had built a tester early on in the E9X development so it is a distinct possibility...

Now that would be neat! May make up a bit for no 5 series wagons over here.

Well... I guess the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon could use a little competition in the US, though the 3-series 9even the upcoming one) is a size-class smaller and a good deal less-powerful.

An M3 station wagon is like a really, REALLY great bean-bag chair. How about am M3 mini-van for those sporty socker moms who demand The Ultimate Driving Machine?

steve be careful you may be on to something, wouldn't you not mind driving a minivan so much if it was M powered?

uaw, Mercedes made an AMG R-class briefly, and it didn't sell at all. So the answer to your question seems to be no, though in fairness the non-AMG R-class models didn't sell worth a damn either.

For those who don't get the appeal of this car, you don't have to. I get it and LOVE it!

Another reason for BMW to charge 70k for a wagon.

Don't hold your breath 00R...........

The current E9X M3 is almost done and the new F30 more than likely will not have one either.

I would however place my bets on "M" version of the 3GT in the near future. :-)
