BOTH Car & Driver And Road & Track Magazines Sold Off In $889 Million Deal

Lagardère, the French media conglomerate, said on Monday that it had agreed to sell its international magazine business, including titles like Car and Driver and non-French editions of Elle, to the American publishing company Hearst for 651 million euros.

The deal, worth about $889 million, came after a month of exclusive negotiations. Lagardère has been seeking to streamline its sprawling international operations and focus more on the domestic media business, following shareholder pressure to improve its performance.

It would be nice if they had different articles. When I first joined up with car mags, I had MT, CD, RT, etc. I realized soon after that the two were basically twins. So after a few phone calls I had one cancelled and refunded.

I never understood the reasoning for two prints of the same thing.

I get MT, CD, RT, and Top Gear magazines.

MT, CD, and RT still haven't figured out that there is this fancy thing called the i-n-t-e-r-n-e-t...

TG is the only one that has a chance in surviving.

They were/are French owned, which explains the anti-american car articles, and continual bloated coverage of the euro trash. I still get them since the deal was 24 months for $10.00. They make get liners for cat litter box. Perhaps now we will see something beside BMW and Porky.
