Chrysler To Pay Bonuses To Workers Inspite Of Losses
Chrysler will pay its UAW and CAW workers an average "performance award" of $750 next week, based on the company's 2010 operating profit of $763 million, despite the fact it lost $652 million after interest expenses and other restructuring obligations.

Salaried workers, except for the top 50 executives, also will receive payments, Chrysler spokeswoman Shawn Morgan said Monday.

sportsbike80: It's only a matter of time before the predictable uaw-(ex)lax will be telling us all that the UAW workers "deserve" their bonuses, even though Chrysler hasn't completely paid back their government loans. Wait - they forgot to give them their other "bonus"; the pot dispensing vending machine in the cafeteria. Don't these auto companies ever learn.

Notice the duma@@ ex(Lax) didn't comment anything about this topic. Sorry those dentures must be yours or your wife's, and they fell out when you were bl@wing everyone that was knocking on your door. Better wipe your mouth.

BTW: LAX - you want to give an answer to the topic and try to convince everyone on why paying UAW workers and management the bonuses, is a good thing since Chrysler has yet to pay back the government loans. I would hope even a hard core UAW member as yourself would believe their FIRST priority should be to pay off their debt to the government?

FIRST priority:
NOT pay back the government loan. Too soon. That would only make it seem like they didn't need it in the first place and taxpayers made a huge mistake.

Second priority:
Pay the bonuses. Provide some security about the future and give people hope. Lull the world into a sense of well being. There, there, hush, hush!

Third prioroty:
When all seems well, sell off to foreign investors at a HUGE profit

Fourth priority:
Pay back the government loans! Then pot for everyone!!!! Buy your own "dispensers!"
