Resale Be Damned? Toyota Ramps Up Incentives After Improved January

Resale Be Damned? Toyota Ramps Up Incentives After Improved January
After an improved January sales effort, Toyota is launching an aggressive advertising and incentives push that will run through March.

The incentives are similar to those offered in last year's Toyotathon campaign. For example, Toyota will offer zero percent financing for 60 months, plus $500 Toyota Financial Services cash back on the Camry. Loyal Camry owners financing through Toyota Financial Services will receive an additional $500 cash, said Bob Carter, Toyota Division general manager.

You can only sell lifeless, boring, crappy cars for so long. Well... Technically you can sell them forever, Just dont expect to be #1.

they've been offering FREE FINANCING for quite a while now. that's thousands of dollars per car. how is that 'no incentives.'
crazy for a car that costs $25,0000.

BD, Sorry, you are looking like the Business 101 Final is tomorrow and you haven't opened the book to see what the subject is yet.
Most of Toyota's sales are from bottom feeder Corolla and Camry LE sales.
Not a lot of blood left to be squeezed out of those stones, but they are still tightening the grip even more.

wow....those are CRAZY incentives for cars costing $25k. 0% financing for 60 months costs several thousand dollars of lost profit....and then up to $1000 cash on top. that's scary for toyota. can't imagine there's much profit left.

Ihe Recall King's January sales were a disappointment, prompting an IHS Automotive analyst to remark that Toyota's long-term outlook has now dimmed. I referenced this in my latest blog post which focuses on Toyota's lousy attitude toward customers: http://uc2.blogspot.com/2011/02/maybe-its-word-of-mouth-toyota.html

I'll leave interpretations of the word "disappointment" to the IHS Automotive analyst, but speaking of guts, "BlackDynamite," why don't you give your real name? Toyota is finally getting the bashing it deserves, and as one of the Recall King's many dissatisfied customers, I'm delighted to see the facts comin' out.

I see a lot of irony when Toyota pretends to put on a happy face while being forced to pile cash on the hoods of their best selling models, just to keep them moving.

Reminds and seems like GM of yesterday.

they need fresh models, the soccer mom minivan Sianna is losing sales to more sleeker car based suv's and the venza just wont bring in buyers either and these are some of Toyota's newest cars. It's also funny to see the Toyota fanboys defend Toyotas every failure all the way.
