Fuel-efficient models to boost Hyundai’s sales in the coming months
As U.S. regulators prepare to impose stricter rules for automakers, Hyundai Motor Co. has started to reveal overall fuel economy ratings for its cars and light trucks based on monthly sales. Hyundai aims to be able to offer the most efficient U.S. vehicle line. Based on U.S. Corporate Average Fuel Economy, or CAFE, guidelines, the models sold by Hyundai in January received an average of 34.7 miles per gallon of gasoline.

It seems Europe gets lots of very fuel efficient diesels that never land on North Americam shores. I wonder why?

It's money. They would not sell here. It's unfair, really. Modern diesels are so much better than they used to be. They don't hardly smell anymore, and they are more quiet--don't even sound like diesels.

I read a review of the Elantra. It didn't attain near the economy that they claim it will, hmmm...
