The most gorgeous coupe ever? Does it hint to the next generation Maybach and Mercedes?




The Maybach Exelero high-performance show car unveiled to the world for the first time this week is a remarkable car with an even more remarkable story behind it. The 700-hp V-12 biturbo two-seater is a unique custom model produced for tyre manufacturer Fulda Reifenwerke, which is using the Maybach Exelero as a reference vehicle for a newly developed generation of wide tyres. The German manufacturer of luxury cars built the unique model as a modern interpretation of its legendary streamlined sports car from the 1930s, thereby forging a link with the historical predecessor, which at that time was likewise based on a powerful Maybach automobile (SW 38) and used by Fulda for tyre tests.

It looks like the Monte Carlo of Batmobiles. In fact that was an insult to GM. This thing is possibly the ugliest car ever made. I would rake it right up their with the Pacer, Eagle, Aztec, etc...

It was built to sell tires. This picture has been available since last year. There are no plans to build it. Don't salivate over nothing.

It definitely is an attention getter, but not in a good way. Looks like an ugly version of the batmobile.

Don't like the headlamps, the awkward shape, grille, tail lamps especially, ugly interior.. etc. Hmm everything? Ok, this design is not cohesive at all! And, cyan gauges with red interior? Bavarian Motorrad, do you mind if I steal your expression? Cus honestly, I just did vommit in my mouth.

don't like this, don't like that, change this etc.

Since when did you become car design experts? Last time I checked, most of you were salivating over the bloated Lexus GS. Talk about the pot and the kettle....

The fact is, this is a design study in flamboyant excess, a concept car designed merely to advertise a new range of tyres.

And when its design roots stem back to Maybach coupes of the 30's, what else would you expect? Understatement?

Don't go calling yourself design experts anytime soon. Keep going with that day job.
