Ford sues Ferrari over F150 name

Ford is suing Ferrari after the famous Italian formula one team decided to call its 2011 car F150. Ferrari had said the single seater is named in tribute of the 150th anniversary of Italian unification.

Ferrari's F150 logo bears striking resemblance to the one on Ford's F-150 pickup truck, the top-selling vehicle in the United States, Ford said in a complaint filed in federal court.

“Ferrari has misappropriated the F-150 trademark … in order to capitalise on and profit from the substantial goodwill that Ford has developed,” Ford said in its lawsuit.

I would think that Ford would appreciate the assocaition. And the F1 car will only be named "F150" for 1 year. They change the name every year. And the F1 car isn't a street legal road going car.

Oh goodness me! Ferrari has stooped so low? Could anyone but a lawyer make that statement with a straight face? And who's the dummy at Ford who called that lawyer?
