First Look: 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 in 2011 Chicago Auto Show
The all-new Charger will once again receive a slight makeover later this fall, although this time it’ll get musclecar mascara from Chrysler’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) team. Not only is the new 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 more powerful than the last go-fast rendition, but according to preliminary test data, it’s more efficient, too.

I see that blacked out front bumper piece is becoming a very popular design. But I'm digging it. Everything except that 5 speed(should have held this back another yr for their 8 speed). But it should still put down some nice numbers.

this car looks spectacular now i wouldnt mind owning a charger the SRT8 looks great maybe a different set of aluminum wheels i would do some nice 22" deep dish aluminum or gunmetal on that car that would make it pop with the red. Chrome wheels for me is a "NO BUENO" for now. but FIAT has done a great job rebranding the Dodge name and changing their image cause this is what an american sports sedan should look like....BIG...BULKY...and a power house V8. I love it KUDOS TO DODGE FOR THE REVAMPED CHARGER

@B7: How long since Fiat and Chrysler merged? How long do you think it takes to develop a car? Do you really think Fiat had any significant input on this vehicle?

Dude that version of the tundra isn't even a Toyota design and not sporty at all.

Toyota designer 1: "lets make something fun to drive and sporty"

Toyota designer 2: " lets start with the heaviest most clumsy vehicle we have and ask Eaton to slap a turbo on it and pass it off as a performance truck!"

What will we get next a TRD Sienna?

Ever get the impression Dodge is run by a bunch of RedNecks who wear flanel shirts, trucker caps, Caterpillar boots and oil stained blue jeans to work ?

EEEEEEEHA !!!!!!!

Funny how people bring up Lexus ... Car and Driver mentionned the Charger was such a POS that they didn't even include it in their yearly lightning lap, you know which car was included ? the Lexus IS-F who does the O-60 in 4.3 vs 4.7 for the Charger

Is this the new Mitsu Galant Evo? I mean it has many of the styling cues found in the Mitsu Evo like the blackened "mouth", red paint, and side character line. I'm surprised no one's mentioned this, looks cool though.

Not my taste with the Blacked out Audiesque grill. However I give Dodge credit for differentiating the SRT8 from the RT. It should be quite a nice driving car.The paddle shift is an improvement. Now it's just a matter of getting that 8 speed auto.

Actually Chrysler was the first to use that style of grill about 15 years ago.

I like this car a lot, but there is a lot of "inspired" design from the:

Side profile = Nissan GT-R (if it was available in four doors)
Front fascia = hybrid of GT-R, Audi & Mitsubishi Evo
Rear fascia = Classic Chrysler/Dodge

The carbon fiber/carbon fiber like trim looks tacky.

I think the styling is nice, and the numbers look good, but honestly Dodge is running themselves out of business. First, a huge failure with the overpriced, boat anchor-like Challenger and now a 13mpg Charger. Earth to Dodge, gas is going to be $4.00/gallon by the time this thing hits the road. The Mustang 5.0 already has this part of the market, it will be priced cheaper than the Charger and Challenger yet again, still beat the challenger in every test possible, and will battle Chevy for market share with the SS and Z28 vs 5.0 and Boss 302.

I like how a lot of you people on here are saying that they stole all these design ideas from the evo and gt-r, do your selves a favor, Google image search chargers from the 60's and 70's. they are simply using some designs from then you know kinda like how ford did the mustang. come on people, research before you open your mouths and make some stupid comments.
