NHTSA, time get NASA again to go after VW, just like was done for Toyota.
Oh wait they weren't buying the conclusion of the report by NASA that relieved electronics from blame for reports of Toyota.

The NHTSA really needs to turn up the heat on BMW's N54 engine high pressure fuel pump problems instead.

BMW already has the N54 fuel pumps carry a 10 year 120K warranty

so what you're saying is that people sometimes get confused and put the wrong type of gasoline in their car ...

This I believe, the same way I believe people sometimes press the wrong pedal.

But Toyota cars aren't as truthful as VWs

What about all of the GM cars from the 80's on up to early 2000's that require constant fuel pumps. I have changed countless fuel pumps and they actually cost more than the fuel pump on most BMW's and Mercedez Benzes. over $375 each plus the labor of dropping the exhaust and gas tank because they were too stupid to make an access panel like every other Japanese and German car to avoid all of that hell just to change a fuel pump. My mother in law has had to have her fuel pump changed in her suburban many times, and theres no investigation. GM has crappy fuel pumps, alternators and starters. Any mechanic will tell you that. Hell, GM parts is what keeps Autozone and Advance auto parts in business. I still think there is a plot to ruin the reps of foreign cars to get us to buy American again.

That's not a fix. It's denial, or at best, a poor excuse to drag on the situation hoping that the problem will go away. Do you think we all have the time to just come in whenever the high pressure fuel pump goes into "limp mode?" Do you? What about situation where you're on the highway traveling 65-70 mph, and with idiots right behind your bumper) and then all of the sudden your engine shuts down and the car jerks violently, scaring the shit out of your entire family...and it has little to no power to maintain that speed so that you won't get killed from behind?

The also have a recall on the N54 along with the extend warranty to fix the pumps. Nice drama with the screaming family though, you should right for cable.
