SHOWDOWN: 2011 BMW 3-Series Coupe Vs. 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

SHOWDOWN: 2011 BMW 3-Series Coupe Vs. 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe
If you haven't heard, Mercedes-Benz has an all-new C-Class Coupe debuting in September. Although this week there were a couple of photographs leaked, we've got the official release and studio shots coming soon.

More importantly though, it seems that E90post decided to get both cars side-by-side for a head-to-head comparison.

So with that said, make sure to take a look at both vehicles and weigh in on the comments.

Here's another comparison. Shortly after the world debut in their Super Bowl commercial, Mercedes unveiled the all new C-Class Coupe. It's based on the existing and well known C-Class variants and features -- unlike any other coupe Mercedes-Benz makes -- a B-pillar and fixed side/rear windows...

from the front, Benz. From everywhere else, BMW.

Benz. Never really caught on to the styling of the current 3er.

The moment this car hits our shores, and hopefully with an entry-level engine, I'm seriously considering purchasing one. Need to test it first, though.

I like the 2007-2010 BMW 3-Series Coupe better than the 2011 or 2012 model. The new BMW 3-Series front and it headlights look really weird. I think the headlights look to big.

I think this new MB C-Class look really good, but it front headlight remind me of the Infiniti G35 coupe from 2007-2009 model and it side profile look like the current Honda Accord Coupe. But I guess every auto company copy each other.

I would definently get the 3 series, the Mercedes just doesn't fit the sports car look... it's not sleek enough but I wouldn't say that the Benz looks like an infinity just because of its headlight shape, there's much more attention to detail in the Mercedes.

Not just that. The Wing Mirrors on the facelifted 3 is just horrible when compared to the pre-facelift Wing Mirror.

C-Coupe for me, especially with the panoramic sunroof. Lust!

The C looks way to much like the Accord its side and rear profile could pass for a car that was based on the Accord with a new front end. NOt sure why no one at Mercedes noticed that, maybe it was intentional...

I have to agree. the Merc looks very much like the Accord coupe. The BMW still looks better even though it is basically a 5 year old design.

Agree with Lexus. I also prefer the design of pre-faclifted 3 coupe over the facelifted 3 coupe. But still would take the BMW over the rich man's Accord Coupe(C coupe).

These cars both have turned themselves into German Toyota Solaras. And are about as exciting as the Toyota. I'd take an Accord Coupe over any 3-series coupe expect for the 335 and M3, and I'd take the Accord coupe over any C-Class model except for the C63. If the C-Class coupe offered more than just different looks over the previous generation, I'd be all over it. But as it stands now, it will still be the same boring tepid C-class that we've always had.

The FWD Japenese coupes are no competition for the 3 or c class. Now I do agree that they both look watered down but that's what the consumer wanted..

"The FWD Japenese coupes are no competition for the 3 or c class"

- In the past yes. But now it's a different story imo. The C300 and BMW328i are about as boring as they come. Any Honda Accord V6 or Nissan Altima 3.5 will beat it in any performance measure (this includes the track).

The 3-series lost its magical steering feel in 2002, the C-Class never had it, and both cars do not have a Limited slip diff. The Germans might feel more balanced on the road but that doesn’t equate to more performance. I hate FWD cars but I’d take an Accord V6 coupe over a C300/C350 or 328i any day.

"Give me a break."

- Those cars can easily beat out the C300 and BMW 328i. Reality much?

Not the 335 though. Mine ran a 12.7 1/4 with a mild $300 tune. Let's see your Accord or Altima do that.

I wasn't talking about the 335i. 335i is a decent but boring car.
