The top ten moust sought after used vehicles- Do you know them?

Nine of the top 10 used vehicles most
sought-after by cars.com shoppers -- but not readily available on dealer lots -- are sports cars, according to the latest cars.com Inventory Demand Index.

The Cars.com Inventory Demand Index tracks the top 50 used vehicle searches on cars.com against actual inventory on dealer lots to help dealers determine which models to buy at auction and to better merchandise from their existing inventory.

not like u r seeing ppl looking for srt4 , eclipse , civic si , crx , delsol , miata ( ... no one wants miata now ? )

maybe better say the top list r filld with quality cars that r not existed in the car world now ... ( excluded the Evo), if a car is easy to find , they dont have to search everyday , that builds clicks

This shows at at least the interest in these model as tuner cars. Great building blocks and sought after as an affordable start. Watching too many reruns of Fast and Furious I guess.

Just stating a fact. These searches are not quantified other than it was a search criteria.

Most of these are older starter cars, typical of a teenage tuner's first ride. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon, and these cars represent the fact that they are both affordable, and easily modified. Basically a car similar to what a motor head would start with.

Tuning is getting harder to do with newer models, it simply cost a great deal and the rewards are not as great as these older vehicles. The cars listed are great bang for the buck. Grassroots racers and pimply faced 16 year olds know this.

Been there, and done that myself.

The Toyota Supra TT is not an "affordable" car for teenagers. I am sure that the majority of mature adults would not be able to 'actually' afford to BUY a mint Supra TT.

There was a mint 94 (I think 94... 90% positive) Supra TT last year out of Alberta that sold for $40,000 CAN. That is the same cost as a brand new loaded TL pretty much.

Well I agree a pristine example of a TT supra is high. But search the past sales on Ebay and they still range from $2500 to $29,000. However the list above does not say TT Supra, mearly Supra.

Supras are hardly "starter" cars. The rest are, though.

1994 TOYOTA SUPRA, 62000 km, mint, loaded. 6spd. Silver w/Dark Blue leather. Single turbo, intake, exhaust & electronics all upgraded + extras. Newer tires. TOO much to list! Never raced. Serious inquiries only, $57000.

The next down on the list is going for $47,995.00. A 94 Supra TT, loaded, MT, and 17466 miles. The rest of them are between 23k to 44k of the 9 for sale in Canada.

Sound inexpensive for a pimply-faced teenager?

I searched on ebay at actual cars sold, to get my selling price, again you are looking at a turbo, the top ten has no turbo on the Supra. I agree on your prices but we are looking at two diferent things.

Also this is actual searches not purchases. Wonder how many people searched for Lambos and Ferraris?

Just how many 700hp Supras are really out there? Yes it is impressive but typically not done by the average Joe.

Most people start the build and go only so far before they move to another car, or simply stop due to economic reasons. Of course they also can stop becuase the have reached their goal too.
