In YOUR Opinion, Which Mainstream Vehicle Offers The LEAST Bang For The Buck Today?
So many articles laud certain vehicles that offer customers a lot of value for the money or bang for the buck.

Cars like the BMW 1-Series, Chevrolet Corvette, Hyundai Sonata/Elantra, Kia Optima all come to mind for doing a really GOOD job of giving people a lot of car for their money.

Today, we want to know which mainstream (so Veyrons and the like don't count) vehicle or vehicles are doing the POOREST job offering customers a great total value for what they get.

Which models and manufacturer needs to get the message the most that things need to change?

So WHAT are YOUR CHOICES?

Toyota Yaris : VERY behind compared to whaat is offereed on the sub compaact markeet.

Chevrolet Aveo : Samee probleem as the Yaris but it's getting replaced.

Toyota Corolla : The only good side I see of this car now is that it is reliable, but there are tons of better buys out there that have more value and quality for the price. The Corolla suffers from a boring driving experience to a plastic fantastic interior -.-

Fiat 500 : This is a nice car, but I heeard that it's gonna staart at 15,000 (est.), wait... for thaat size of a car?! No thaanks ! (;

Thaat's all I caan think of foor now .

Chevy Impala, Toyota Camry, Corolla, Avalon, Buick LaCrosse. I'm sure there are more so I'll let others chime in...

Love how you show a 1er, the only people the think the BMW 1 doesn't offer "bang of the buck" are the people that haven't driven one.

Not saying the 1 doesn't give bang for the buck. I stated in the article I thought it was one of the best.

Subaru Outback, the tech in that car hasn't really changed in a decade.

I would totally agree. NOTHING on those cars has changed in 10 years.

Drive a Hyundai and then jump into a Subie and it feels like you turned your watch back 10 years.

Hmmm. Based on the subject, I thought this was a 'ooR post. Ya got me :-( Looks like 'oo1 is taking classes at the 'ooR school of "post something, even if I have no news, as long as it incites flame wars."

I got a 2010 Impala form Enterprise and I was repulsed. I can't fathom why anyone would shell out >10000 for that dreck!

hmmm...

volt, it's $10-15k overpriced and it's still a loss leader.
sc430, decade old design with a sub 300hp v8 and over $65k price tag
r8, it's a $115k "supercar" with only 420hp motivating 3600lbs of metal

BMW M3...overpriced when Mustang GT with a straight rear axel is its equal on a track.

Lets be clear, Ford had time to study a 2-3yr old M3 with a goal set to outperform it. To their credit they accomplished their goal. The next generation M3 will be better than the current version. They always are.

The question will be, can Ford keep up the R&D $$$ to keep up with the next generation M3. And that's been the rub against the Big 3 forever. Hit here, hit there then they stop investing in the next generation. I hope Ford continues to push the limit. Its better for all us consumers/enthusiasts!

I'd have to say Boxster and Cayman. They need to sharpen their pencils on the next versions.

The Boxster Spyder is the best car under $100,000. The Boxster Spyder, S and the Cayman S are one of the better buys out there. I'm surprised at you, 001. I know how much you love your 911s, but even the most fervent 911 owners will agree that the Boxsters and Caymans are quite the best bang for the buck.

The Smart, and the BMW X6. They have their purposes or they never would have never reached fruition, let alone been greenlit for production. That being said, I have NO IDEA as to what their purposes are and no one, not even their respective owners, have been able to provide me with a sufficient explanation as for their existence.
