Audi presents A3 concept in Geneva
Attractive concept car as a four-seater notchback sedan
Five-cylinder, 300 kW (408 hp) turbocharged engine with Quattro drive
Based on the successor to the Audi A3

Audi will present an attractive technological concept car based on the coming generation of the Audi A3 at the 81st International Geneva Motor Show in early March 2011. The four-seater notchback sedan offers a glimpse of the future expansion of the A3 family.

The sporty yet elegant design of the Audi A3 concept integrates the single-frame grille with its tapered upper corners and headlights with the latest generation of LED technology. The low, flowing roof dome and a coupe-like, low C pillar are among the defining features of the side view.

The Audi A3 concept is 4.44 meters (14.57 feet) long, 1.84 meters (6.04 feet) wide and just 1.39 meters (4.56 feet) high. These proportions emphasize the dynamism of the car's appearance, as do the performance figures for the drive unit. The five-cylinder turbocharged engine has a power output of 300 kW (408 hp). It distributes its power to all four wheels through a seven-speed S-tronic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive.

From the side it look very similar to the Audi A5/S5. It look pretty good but I can't make judgement until I see the production model but I do like the 408 hp that come with this car.

The only problem I see is that this car has more power than it bigger brother like the A4/S4, A5/S5 model. It will probably a lot of money as well to get this car like all Audi.

The drawings look great but let's see the concept in the flesh and then let's see the actual production model before we get too excited....

Sketch looks great but sketches don't have to picture practical vehicles. Looking forward to the concept.

Very dynamic. I hope the actual production car takes on the same feel.

Very good looking. It's a concept, though. Don't know how much of this will carry over. I hope the 408HP does, though. :-)

Looks like a Mitsubishi Lancer crossbred with a Hyundai Sonata. That said, I actually think it looks pretty good!

Great to have a compact sedan by AUDI. References to the BMW 2002, so probably BMW needs to rethink their 1-series strategy as well. We don't need their 1-series van-style frontwheeldrive, but a great 1-series RWD sedan.

I like the skeches. Further the design does not seem to be way out extreem like some skeches you see.It looks more production proportioned then most. This implies that the concept car will be pretty production ready. The only difference may be larger wheels and tires but I bet it will be close. Further this should end up being the 4 door sedan version with the standard 2.0 4 cylinder for production.

This is good rendering of a jazzed up VW Jetta.

The concept has the TTRS/RS3 engine and is just a demonstration as to the potential of the motor. The production version will have the std A4 powerplant producing 211hp/258lbsft with S and RS's to follow. RS might get close to that output but most likely 340 or 360hp, same as the TTRS. Don't forget, most of Audi's concepts are pretty close to the actual production version with only slight modifications to the overall look. Engines and interiors are always overdone to concept levels. I think the look is very aggressive and gives nice disign cues to the very successful B5 A4 which was roughly the same size. This car should acheive the goal of becoming a volume leader with an even wider appeal in the US and other countries outside of Europe.
