Porsche CEO wants at least one new car per year!
It appears that Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller wants to boost global sales to more than 200,000 units by 2018, and in order to achieve this goal the German manufacturer will introduce at least one new car every year. Mueller also added that Porsche is working hard on its future strategy, and he promised a few exciting surprises. As you may know already, Porsche name is

Are they talking "totally new car," such as when the Boxster first came out, or a variant of an existing car, like a Special Edition paint job? I'm not in favor of 10 completely new vehicles in the next decade. It's an enormous black hole for resources I'd rather have Porsche expend elsewhere. But that's just me.

Porsche needs to sell more vehicles according to VAG.You cannot sell 200,000 sports cars. There is no market for these anywhere. The Cayenne saved Porsche's ass when it came out. It allowed Porsche to continue making those limited volume sportscars. The Panamera has done nothing but help Porsche's market share. However this only gets Porsche short of 100,000 cars a yr. So Porsche is going up market with the Panamera coupe and down market with the Cajun and Bluesport sportscar. The Panamera coupe will probably yield another 10,000 versions of that platform. I long wheelbase version will probably yield another 20,000.
The Cajun will probably yield 30,000 sales and the bluesport 20-30,000 sales. That gets Porsche close to the 200,000 mark. Finally don't be surprised if they produce a baby Panamera on a shortened wheelbase to compete with the C class,3 series and A4.It's only a matter of time.I've mentioned 5 of the 10 vehicles that I think Porsche will produce. However they can always produce more versions of the Boxster Cayman as well. There is talk of a Targa Cayman. You can bet on 4 cylinder versions as well.I also think that Porsche will produce a FWD version on the Golf chassis at one point.

Remember VAG owns or will own Porsche. Perhaps crcr your correct. But don't be surprised if VW does a special Golf that says "designed by Porsche" on it some day. Lotus used to do this for Isuzu back when they made passenger cars in the 90's. I owned a Stylus. This could easily happen with VAG. A special Golf with suspension or engine mods by Porsche. They could call it the Golf-Porsche Special Edition.Who knows
