Honda Parallels Toyota And Slashes Board Of Director Positions
Honda Motor Co. said today it will remove the head of American Honda from its board in a move that cuts the number of directors to 12 from 20 and aims to streamline decision making.

The changes will take effect in June, pending approval at that month's shareholder meeting. The management overhaul jettisons 9 executives from the board and adds one new member. Most of those executives leaving the board will shift to more hands-on positions as operating officers, the company said in a statement.

Will they also create life-less appliances and call them cars like Toyota?

Is Honda planning to make some drastic changes or doing some sort of "180" on past firm decisions (not to offer a V8 maybe). They're probably revamp a few model lines and push hybrid tech more.

Now they just need to cut the ugly and old tech from their lineup.

I never said the Elantra or competitors were super high-tech. I was referring to the fact that the Civic has lost its appeal to me as a potential buyer.

The Civic GX is only available in certain markets, and if they want the Si to be competitive, 200hp is not going to cut it. 2.4L or not. I would have hoped that Honda would start competing with the upcoming Focus SVT (RS) or WRX, or MS3. But they seem content in putting the 2.4L KA into the Civic (finally) to appeal to the magazine racers. Something that should have been done last generation or offered mid-cycle as a Civic Type R.

It's all a matter of opinion, and in mine Honda has done nothing more than a late and dull refresh that will most likely still sell well to the droves who want something more "exciting" than a Corolla. Although agian to me, that's not saying a lot.

Yep. And while we were in the LFA, a 458 pulled alongside and made us look like crap.
