2011 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition Official Detail
To celebrate the LFA’s hat-trick of class wins at the Nürburgring 24 Hours race, Lexus has created the Nürburgring Package, an array of aerodynamic features, suspension adjustments and revisions to the 4.8-litre V10 engine that give the supercar a more track-focused profile. Shown in public for the first time at the Geneva motor show, the performance option is available on just 50 of the 500 cars that will be built. These versions will be crafted during 2012, the second full year of LFA production.

To sharpen the car’s circuit driving performance even further by increasing downforce at high speed, the Nürburgring Package introduces modifications and additions to several key carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) components. These include a larger front spoiler, fin-type side spoilers, a canard fin and a fixed rear wing.

To ensure the LFA maintains its 3.7-second acceleration time from nought to 62mph, in spite of the increased drag, the V10 engine has been revised to increase maximum power by 10bhp to 562bhp. Shift times in the six-speed sequential transmission are just 0.15 seconds.

In terms of handling modifications, the package features suspension tuning and a 10mm reduction in the ride height. Exclusive mesh-type wheels are introduced, fitted with dedicated high-grip tyres.

Exterior colour choices are restricted to matte black, black, white or orange, with interiors finished in black and red, black and purple and all-black. Cars delivered in Europe will feature a carbon fibre centre console and door trims, with carbon fibre sports seats finished in Alcantara.

So Hilarious they named it after a German track

So what? LFA stands for Lexus Fuji Apex. Fuji is a Japanese track, so in reality the LFA is named after Fuji (a TOYOTA OWNED track with a LOT of history). The fact it's called Nurburgring edition is because of the ONE-YEAR pass you get with the package, as well as driver training on the Ring from one of their professional Racers who Piloted the LFA to the SP8 class win in 2010. Like I said before, do some research. You also get a Free Stay in the Hotel at the Nurburgring as well. Didn't know that did you? Another homage is to Hiromu Naruse, who died testing the LFA Nur' edition at the Nurburgring. He was named the Nur Meister because he had more miles at the Nurburgring than almost anyone. Definitely more than any Asian driver.

Not for nothing, but it mentions the LF-A's class victory at the Nurburgring... They forgot to mention they were also the only car in its class... Kinda hard to get beat by someone if you are racing no one...

Shows how much you know. SP8 was the class the LFA was in, along with another LFA, Aston Martin, Corvette, IS-F etc. Do some research before you spew lies buddy.

you should also mention that it was an Aston Martin Rapide, a V12 Vantage, a 4.2 v8 R8 Audi, a C6 and my favorite cars of the class: Audi D2 W12 and Audi D11 v8. not exactly the "pinnacle of supercar competition".

you also forgot to mention that one of the 2 LF-As broke down before the race even had started. check out 0:37 in the video below

i highly respect Lexus for their Nürburgring engagement (take notice Nissan!), but it's not necessary to put a positive spin on an SP8 class win.

we're adults, pls use sources and arguments instead of a deboost to proof me wrong

Great, an even more overpriced edition! I will stick to real supercars.

I'm sure you'll stick to "real supercars". I'm sure you have several.

and just 5 positions behind a bone stock GT3rs and i can't remember Porsche making a big deal out of that. that's what seperates the men from the boys.

That GT3RS was anything but 'bone stock' It's allowed to run at a lesser weight than the LFA, with about the same HP. Get real and get a life. GT3RS weigh around 2800lbs. and have around 450hp. On top of that, they have slick tires thanks to the race rules. So saying they are better than the LFA is a longshot. Especially considering the GT3RS on the street isn't hardly faster than an Aston Martin N24 which ran along the LFA in SP8 class. Tell me what position they finished in last year's Nurburgring 24hour race.

for christ's sake....enough about a car (and it's various editions) that NOBODY HAS EVER SEEN ON A PUBLIC ROAD since they introduced it in 2005.
