SPY PHOTO: Spies break the best shots yet of the next generation Mercedes-Benz CL-Front view

Here are latest photos of the next generation Mercedes S Class coupe CL. They are showing a prototype without any disguise; just a few strips of tape were removed by computer.

As can be seen, its styling this time will be much sleeker and more elegant - boot lid and rear end reminding somewhat of the Maybach - complete with a refined luxurious interior, technical equipment and visibly flared fenders.

Engines will be available in a range from a V6 3.7 litre to the V12 4,0 litre fuel units, and possibly also for the coupe a V6 3,2 litre Diesel and a V8 4,0 litre Diesel. The top of the line model is going to be the AMG version powered by a 6.3 litre V12 delivering over 600 HP.

The new CL is scheduled for release at the Paris Motor Show this fall.

Photos include 2 photos, both of which have been slightly computer retouched to remove some tape disguise.

Not as impresive as the CLS. Doesn't look that great from this shot. More pictures needed for the final assesment.

I agree with you - this new model looks like a move back to the late 1990s CL [a whale] rather the immediate predecessor

I think this picture reflects a camouflaged concept for the replacement of the Toyota Solara. Can we see the real picture of the Merc please?

don't agree with others that this car looks great. front end used to look super sexy with dual headlamps on both sides. now, they look like an Infiniti FX rip-off (which is way ugly in the first place). side of car looks IDENTICAL (!!) to s-class (so much for differentiating character) and the tear-drop, fat arse back end looks criminal!

bland headlights, it looks remarkably like the CLS from the front. In the most recent issue of Automobile, in an interview with the Chair of AMG, he states that he drives a CLS AMG; and, "That is the secret car... The design and style are so outstanding that it is now a cult car." Of course, he could drive any MB product, including a Maybach.
