Is the new Mercedes CL a STUD or a DUD?



The new Mercedes CL-class is right around the corner and the Spies want to know your opinion.

The last CL was a huge success for DCX with the intitial cars being sold for $20-40K premiums.

That will be a tough act to follow.

THe lights to me have an Audi-uesque appearance, not sure why but they do. This does look an awful lot like a 2 door CLS which is not a bad thing... I am sure people will buy it

Why doesn't it invoke any emtion when you look at it? And it looks very simluar to next generation CLK( also plain to look at). I still prefer the current design of CLK and CL, rounded headlights.

Now that is a nice ride! Low, long, smooth, just the right amount of flash, and sportiness.

Based upon how the new S-Class looked in the pre-release pictures, compared to how it looked in person, this CL looks very promising. The new CL looks very distinctive, aggressive and sporty, yet not inappropriate for the S-Class market. It will definitely appeal to the target audience.

looks like an old man car, no excitement, but I guess that is the group they are looking to appeal to.

Okay, as a coupe I like it. I still haven't warmed up to the new S-Class but I do like the over all shape and flow of the coupe. I think the new design that MB did works better on this shorter model.

As others above, people bought the last generation CL, and this one will be popular too. The AMG versions will look really nice.

Actually, it looks more like the LS 600h's headlights, not the GS's. I really, really want to like this new CL because I like the current one so much, but I am not sure how I feel yet.

Hey, comparing headlights is always fun, but you obviously were so caught up in the excitement that you failed to realise that the CL picture is a-

-Photo shopped image.

The whole front end is the brainchild of computer nerd who gold hold of a camouflaged CL picture.

Anyway, you will probably all dismiss this *minor* fact, and continue your search of-
