As a diesel owner, i am not surprised to see the relative increase but it continues to mystify me as to why everyone hasn't figured this out.

If you're like me, you ask people: "Why dont you own a diesel" and the answer is always the same. "I dont to spend more to buy a noisy, smoky, smelly slow dirty car that I cant find gas for" This is a myth perpetuated by dealers and salesman of every brand which doesn't have diesels. "No ma'am, we do not sell those dirty, slow, stinky things. You'll likely run out of gas anyway because most stations don't carry diesel. But, step this way and I'll show you to a green Prius."

Except that there is less diesel in crude oil than traditional gasoline. So isn't about catching up it is about product's that consumers want.
