Toyota Global Sales Lag As Market Shifts Into Second Gear

Toyota Global Sales Lag As Market Shifts Into Second Gear
Toyota Motor Corporation released global production, domestic sales and export results for January. Two words: Not good. While Toyota’s global peers can boast of surprising numbers for January, TMC’s worldwide production dropped by 3.9 percent across Toyota, Daihatsu and Hino. The Toyota brand has even less to show: Minus 4.7 percent. And this while the competition is busy dethroning the leader of the pack.

I could be way off in my wild speculation, but I'm guessing that the Unintended Accelleration witch-hunt (AKA The Audi Dance, Part II) may have tainted public perceptions.

could also be the average reliability, boring designs across the range and less than special features and technology. just a thought.

People buying the latest Toyota offerings are disappointed in them. I noticed this by asking many. The competition also has many nice cars for competitive prices, and people are starting to look at Hyundais and Kias more than ever.

After all the lies and twisted press we receive on a daily basis you would think anyone with reasonable intelligence would not let this sway their decision. I guess people with reasonable intelligence are in the miniorty.

It's the cars dude. The current Toyota's are so dull and lifeless that it isn't even funny. Name an exciting Toyota? Hyundia/Nissan/Infiniti has those areas covered, Toyota/Honda/Acura does not.

"Toyota Global Sales Lag As Market Shifts Into Second Gear"

- That's what happens when the cars are as dull as dishwater. Toyota's current lineup is about as exciting as kia's lineup from a couple years back. Even KIA's current line-up makes the current toyotas look dull.

Toyota's current model line-up is the least appealing model line-up out of all the manufacturers in the U.S. Kia and Hyundia used to have the least appealing lineups, now that title belongs to Toyota. But they are still the best cars in the world.

Hee hee. A so-called automaker that can't even get it right designin' floor mats. And the list of defects and customer complaints keeps on growing. Can't imagine why the Recall King's global production is down. Seems to be stallin' right along with those engines in '06 Highlander hybrids: http://uc2.blogspot.com/2011/02/stallin-toyota-way-06-hybrid-suvs.html
