GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Ferrari's Revolutionary FF Comes To Geneva, Are You Loving/Hating It?

GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Ferrari's Revolutionary FF Comes To Geneva, Are You Loving/Hating It?
We may only be in the third month of 2011 but if someone were to ask me "What design is the most controversial thus far," I would have to say that award goes to the Ferrari FF. As a replacement for another polarizing -- however more traditional -- design, the 612 Scaglietti, the FF makes a name for itself because it is a departure for the well-known marque.

Not only in terms of design but keep in mind its drivetrain is also all-wheel drive, which is a first for Ferrari. Although purists will likely always have a problem with this, it may be best to hold judgment.

That's because any 6.3-liter V12 that spins at 8,000 rpm and has 651 horsepower sounds enticing to me, even it it doesn't look like every other front-engined, GT Ferrari flagship.

**With that said, what do you make of the FF now that we are seeing it in REAL LIFE in different colors? Thoughts, Spies?

Liking it. Looks enough like the 458 Italia to make the cut.

1 vote for "not." Reminds me of the now (thankfully) gone Flame Surface Z4. Budy details. Dissonant forms. Lack of flow. The front headlights are just plain weird, while the tail lights look as though someone just suck them into a clay model.

I have a strong preference for the Ferraris of just a few years ago, before this mo-durn craziness showed up. Y'know, the end of the long run when just about anything that Ferrari did was univerally received as a thing of beauty.

The rear diffuser is surprisingly unsubtle.

Torn......

In some ways it's hot and exotic and yes, verrrrry different.

But in other ways it's weird and very station wagony.

If Ferrari wanted to be polarizing and controversial I think a hot Panamera style 4-door coupe would have been a better choice.......

Success or failure, it is AMAZING this thing got built. Hat's off to the risk takers at Ferrari!

You just cannot believe how long it is in real life.

Ferrari meets Z3 coupe. FAIL.

That Z3 clown-shoe rear is really unappealing. It's like a mish-mash of Miata grill + Italia lights + Z3 rear.

Not a pleasant way to spend $300,000.

"even it it doesn't look like every other front-engined, GT Ferrari flagship"

That is the idea behind innovation, is it not?? Old people will hate it!

It's shameful that this Ferrari's backside out-uglied the Panamera.

Epic fail!

I love this, but am at odds with the Panamera's styling. Not sure what that says about my taste or lack there of.

They could have made a very nice AWD coupe that seats 4 say in the vain of 635CSI or Lancia Gamma. The question is will this car hold it's residual value. I think not. It's not particularly good looking and it's smiling face grill is stupid. What was wrong with the 456 styling.
A very good looking car. I thought with the 458 that Ferrari was finally starting to realize that it's not just technical superiority but athestics as well.I guess it just has not sunk in yet. Why would someone to spend $300,000 dollars on this?

Agree with supermoto

Ferrari managed to make an even uglier car than Panamera especially from c pillars rearwards. The very average looking 612 was much better looking than this. Maybe they were thinking ugly sells.

Whether or not it's ugly is completely subjective, but it's clearly paying off for them. There is now an 18 month waiting list for this beauty or beast

I'm on side of loving it. Imagine driving up to the hills with this. 3 things I love fused together on one epic drive..snow, Ferrari, and snowboarding

I loved it! It has lots of personality, and AWD just adds versatility.
I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
