No surprise. BMW is the best run auto company around, and I say that even though I don't care for any of the products they make today (I don't care for their style). PS: I have 2 pre-Flame Surface BMWs in the garage, and love 'em both.

Joy! Cars are softer. Legendary Steering feel is gone because folks were complaing that the steering felt heavy.

BMWs have gone away from the enthusiast and towards the Lexus crowd. Things like no dipstick, and run-flat tires (with no spare) kills it for me.

But other things like the lack of LSD for the non "M" cars. Basic AWD system not build for performance, that doesn't have torque-vectoring. non driver-centric interiors. Lack of a dual-clutch transmission in all but the high-end models, Generic syling (still better than the Bangle era cars though). Unfinished brake calipers (the one series is the only BMW that have finished brake calipers, the rest of the BMW's have crude looking brakes). The "Brembos" that you find on other cars make the BMW brake setup look like something from the 70's.

And last but not least. BMWs are just flat-out overpriced. Not as bad as Audi, but overpriced nonetheless. I have more but why bother?

They aren't luxury cars (well the 7 might be) just like Lexus isn't an enthuisiast's car.

I agree with LexSucks.
I've been driving BMWs for the past 10 years and I bought them for their performance and sheer driving pleasure, not for their "luxury".

BD agree companies play to strengths, but Lexus interiors are not that great. Remeber, Lexus was designed to keep older Toyota customers. They have done a good job.

It's no surprise to me...solid cars, great engines, atractive designs...but IMO being a top seller isn't everything, being a top car is...

Nice. BMW finally topping the list after Lexus took like 30 of the last 34 months :/
