GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Bangle & Castriota Volley On Saab's PhoneiX

GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Bangle & Castriota Volley On Saab's PhoneiX
One clip that has been making its way around the 'net since the 2011 Geneva Motor Show has been the little back and forth between Chris Bangle, formerly of BMW's design team, and Jason Castriota, currently with Saab's design group.

Bangle, known for his innovative designs that influenced a generation of vehicles, observes the PhoneiX concept and simply asks "Why is this a Saab?" A valid question, however, I wonder how he would have answered if someone asked him how the E65 7-Series' gigantor ass represented BMW.

Just sayin'

Take a look at the clip down below and let us know your thoughts on this little exchange: 1) Does Bangle have a point? 2) Is Castriota's retort strong enough to hold water?

Chris Bangle, former chief of design for BMW group, discusses the SAAB PhoneniX concept with SAAB design director, Jason Castriota, and asks him "Why is this a SAAB?"

I always thought that the E65/66 were beautiful advancements in the BMW design, yet they still well-represented BMW!

Btw, I also feel that this is a great-looking car that wouldn't look out of place with a SAAB! I just hope that the silly taillights would light up evenly light up unlike the last Pontiac Firebird.
