Toyota wants at least 10 new hybrid models to improve its sales!
Toyota Motor Corp. believes that adding at least 10 new hybrid models will help boost an increase in European sales to 1 million vehicles by 2013 or 2014, an increase from about a quarter from last year, according to Toyota Motor Europe President Didier Leroy. He also said that the automaker will aim to raise sales in the region by 10% this year from the 808,000 sold in 2010

Toyota is now dead to me as an enthusiast. I'll put money that the FT-86 with it's Japanese retro RX-7/Supra/tC/Celica looks will also be a hybrid similar to the Honda CR-Z.

I don't believe anything Toyota says anymore. They're recalls has tainted their image drastically. Boredom is one thing but poor build quality is/was all they had left!!!!..

Toyota Asia is another story. Much better cars than here.

Manfuacturers are going this direction because they need to up the average mileage of their fleets. Since OVERALL mileage of a lineup must be at a certain mpg they need these fuel sippers to help out the guzzlers.

My next car will probably be my last for a long time, unless they get smart and start bringing wagons back.
