SPYSHOT: GM to roll Chevy pickup early

GM originally planned to start selling the new Silverado and its stablemate, the GMC Sierra, next year as 2008 models. However, senior executives working on the program say production of the SUVs has gone so smoothly that they pulled the pickups forward several months.

Sales should begin in October. The early launch will provide a major infusion of cash to GM's bottom line this year. The new Chevy and GMC also will have a head start of several months before Toyota begins selling its new Tundra full-size pickup sometime in 2007.

Defintely nice and defintely got inspiration from Dodge with regards to front bumper. This should come with a fully boxed frame. Too bad GM decided to stop producing the 4 wheel steering. Such a great option, but killed by the price.

Interesting fenders, especially on the fleetside bed. Wish they would finally widen the wheel wells for easier conversion to lifts and larger tires. For that matter it would be nice to see GM put a little more height on its 4x4s. Lastly this test mule has wide gaps for the hood; this cannot be the same for production.

The front looks like something that should be on a Land-Rover!

The front looks too wide or lights are too small, and the body looks too big and low for its tires. Looks good overall.
