Nissan Takes Another Styling Chance with a Murano Cabriolet
No, this isn't a PhotoChop. Nissan is serious.

Nissan is attempting to tap into the market you didn't know existed with their all-new 2011 Murano CrossCabriolet.

We've seen similar occurrences before (PT Cruiser Convertible, anyone?), but what do you think of this one? Does Nissan have a potential hit or is this a total miss?

See the article for video.

It was unattractive to *my* eyes the first time I saw it, and it's still not looking pretty to me.

Product meeting at Nissan: "People like SUVs and they like convertibles...I got a brilliant idea: let's make a convertible SUV!" Stay tuned for the next episode where they explore the fact that people want coupes but buy 7 seat minivans, thus creating the first van-coupe.

"Nissan Takes Another Styling CHANCE with a Murano Cabriolet"

It's called innovation and creativity you numb nuts! The most creative thing most of you have done is take a crap!

Appreciate "taking a chance" you morons! I would so laugh my ass off if it is a SALES SUCCESS!

Its called chopping the roof off to increase sales. Looks dangerous. Roll-over stability?

Notice 90% of all pictures of this thing are with the top down. Have you seen the top up? Talk about NO visibility. And at a $47k premium price for an already overpriced Murano (should start low-mid 20's for base models), you can get a WORLD of better convertible offerings from BMW, Audi, MB and with AWD to boot. Sorry I just don't get it.

And the roofcrush dynamics would be? I would surmise nil. This thing look dangerous as you can get. Let's see here, crossover + elevated seating position + poor rear visiability + poor driving dynamics + minimal at best rollover protection = disaster.

This is not "taking chances" It's desperation! My goodness! this thing must look scary with it's top up!
The weight, driving dynamics, rigidity issues, all those problems to solve, to come up with such nightmare on wheels! Don't bother Nissan...
