What Is The Vehicle That Says The Neighbor Knows Absolutely NOTHING About Cars Most?
We all know if you're a regular at AutoSpies.com, you don't just have a casual affair with autos or are unemotional about the vehicle you drive.
But I'm sure in your neighborhoods you see PLENTY of rides that just scream from the driveways, streets and garages that the person who bought them, knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about cars.
What is/are the makes/models that shout those sentiments the MOST to you?
Spies, discuss...

AWD, great handling, good space, a decent interior, and decent power, good safety rating. Not to mention decent styling.

Hmm, how does a person's choice about cars tell you how much they know about cars? I don't think it can. I have seen BMW drivers (the ultimate driving machine) who can't even change a tire. When I see a person with a properly modified car, someone who rebuilds engines or works on race cars, I assume they know a thing or two though.

Chevy Impala, and he thinks it is the best. He's an older guy so I'm nice but I want to tell him it has the biggest V6 with the lowest output of its competitors v6 engines, both raw horsepower and specific output (hp/liter). It's an ancient design that dates way back.

I'd rock out with an Impala SS with the small block 5.3 V8. I just wish they'd go back to a RWD platform.

Are you kidding me?? This has to be one of the most ridiculous posts I've seen on this site, and that's really saying something. People, this is not car news... and who said that because we have a collective interest in a topic it gives us the right to judge others who do not fit into our demographic or agree with us? I've been visiting this site for years, and as the years have passed I visit it less and less - it's turned into a forum for children with toys. Grow up people!

A hedge fund manager who lives in my village flies all over the world to test and race prototypes. When he just missed making podium finish
at this year's Rolex 24hour Daytona race I asked him what type engine was in the car and was it turbo or not...his response was "I haven't a clue." Go figure !

I'll bite.
I'm sure everyone would jump on say a Toyota Camry or Accord, but for me the ones that stick out the most are the following:
BMW owners who really have no clue about their car or it's capabilities but by it simply to be a brand whore.
MB owners who again really know nothing about their car, it's pure status symbol to them.
Porsche owners, more specifically Porsche Cayenne's in all flavors. They are more often than not owned by Greenwich soccer moms whose husbands bought them the car which will never surpass 50mph and never be used in more than 2" of snow. They have the big Suburban or Tahoe for that duty.

Porsche, BMW, MB? At least those are nice cars. The Camry and Accord are boring appliances and shows that little thought was put into the car selection process (they just bought what everyone else had).
Although you can say that about some BMW owners, at least they were after something (nice handling) even if they can’t drive. The MB owners were after supreme luxury. The Camry and Accord folks? They just want a car.

I think he is referring to the ignorant owners of those cars who know or care nothing about the cars heritage or capabilities and who lack the knowledge to love the car for what it truly is, and I agree with him 100%.

Why the LR3? it is a very capable SUV, far more so than anything else that nice. Only a Jeep Rubicon, G Wagen Benz or Land Cruiser are as capable offroad, with the Rubicon being better offroad.

- What a stupid reply. How freaking old are you? LOL!!
Don't you think this "Parez" thing is getting old? It wasn't even really funny the first time when I said it. You’re taking what I said about the LF-A, and trying to use that to insult me personally. So much for being original. You can’t even make up your own insults. This is so funny that its almost sad.
I’m starting to feel sorry for you. Anyone who reacts personally like you do about a car disagreement has got some issues. Either that or you are just a child.

Most people know absolutely nothing about cars, so they could drive anything, but a give away to the fact that they know nothing could be a Corola or a Kia that competes with the Corola, and for trucks in half ton it would have to go to the spaghetti framed rusty Toyota Tundra, or for the 4x4 crowd anything all jacked up on huge lift blocks, just imagine a high chair on wheels off road, tippy...

Lexusrox123, I am not a Lexus hater, they are better than the lower end Toyota, I have owned three toyota trucks and have been a Toyota truck fan back then, I just don't trust the quality now...There is a night and day difference from a Corola and a Lexus, the Corola is a 20 year old design, come on, how can you defend that? Google Tundra bed box bounce, you can't defend the super flexy spaghetti frame on the Tundra, or how about the inferior metal blend that is making the Tundras spare tire fall out due to rust! That is on a new truck too! The Tundra does have a nice engine.
