If chevy doesn't bring this, does that mean the compact/midsize pickup is dead? Or are we forced to be limited to just Nissan, Toyota, and Dodge, which are all far from compact (is the Dakota still being sold?). I will never buy a truck unless it broke 30mpgs and could tow 5k+. Ford and Chevy both have vehicles that can do that! Give us the baby diesels!

The Dakota is still being sold. It is rumered to change to a compact and looks to be a unibody. Looks like it will be named a Ram Dakota 'Lifestyle" truck. The latest renderings show it with the new gen Durango front with a "Rampage" looking bed. Possibly on a Jeep chassis. Not sure of the drivetrain but the VM diesel is possible. The colorado needs to be available here in the US. Even though these small pick-ups are not my cup of tea I still believe there is a strong demand. They are very usefull in the service industry, pest control, pool service and in the construction industry for customer service and bidding, etc. These small trucks with diesels would sell like hotcakes.
