VIDEO: Apple's iPad 2 Becomes The Newest Dash-Mounted Nav
Now, when the first Apple iPad came out people didn't know exactly what to make of it. Was it an e-reader? Just a gigantic iPhone? The replacement for the netbook?
We knew one thing was certain though. The Apple iPad was going to be something that changed the way we looked at computing. Between both the iPhone and iPad, the catchphrase "Oh, there's an app for that," has been coined indefinitely.
With that said, Apple recently unveiled the iPad 2 and now it was time to put that puppy to good use.
Check out the new iPad 2 become the sickest vehicle navigation system. Doug Bernards takes a brand new Ford F150 and guts the Microsoft Sync system, and replaces it with a fresh iPad 2. To see more iPad installations, watch our "Amplified" web show. Facetime video conferencing in your car...

And don't forget you can jailbreak your iPad and make it spit out your Verizon/AT&T 3G data connection vie WiFi to create a mobile semi-highspeed hotspot. This mod is absolutely full of win - too bad you need a SUV/truck sized dash for it to fit :(

Writing that comment got me wondering if AT&T was going to possibly let people take advantage of the personal hotspot feature as a paid option instead of forcing people to jailbreak their device and get the capability for free, so I did some looking into it. It appears like they will indeed let people do it, but since I'm still waiting to my get grubby fingers on an iPad 2 of my own, I can't personally verify this. I didn't look into Verizon, but I imagine if one carrier does, they both will.
