Chinese Sales Of Japanese Luxury Cars Latest Casualty Of Quake Damage

Japan's car makers, already reeling from the country's natural disaster, may find that their woes extend to an increasingly important market: China's luxury car segment.

Toyota Motor , Honda Motor and Nissan Motor see China's wealthy consumers as a great opportunity for their top-end brands. Nissan, for one, doubled sales of its Infiniti cars to nearly 11,000 units in 2010 and aims to double sales again this year, according to analysts.

Such goals could now prove impossible to meet.

It's still too early forcast the outcome. The earthquake could "wake up" the Japanese government and their people and re-estimate whom their "real friends" and alliance are. If the Japanese can recognize and please the great help and assistance provided by Chinese in this disaster, their long term and everlasting bad relationship may change. Now Chinese rejects the Japanese due to the invasion in WW II and the recent island conflict. If Japanese can officially apologize the invasion and settle down the conflict, I believe more and more Chinese people would buy the Japanese cars.
