SPY PHOTOS: The Spies give the world the first look at the Lexus IS Coupe/Cabriolet-Part one

Look for the Lexus IS coupe first as a 2008 model followed by the Cabriolet.

The Cabriolet will have a retractable folding roof

A rumored facelift is expected for either 2009 or 2010, with a rumored 390-horsepower V8

I see this has a hardtop.

(To BMW fans.....doesn't the new 3 Series coupe have a hardtop coming with it, or are they going rag?)

It's definately going to throw a wrench into the BMW coupe and conv. works despite what some people think of the styling. I see a huge number of the Lexus SC's around and I think this will be helped by those.

Though I am not too sure about the high rear end.

This car looks a bit plain when compared to the BMW 3 Series Coupe. The 3 Series Coupe sits lower and looks more aggressive. If BMW decides to put 19" shoes on the 2007 335i it would even add more appeal to it's car. As for the rumored 390hp V8, Lexus will need every ounce of that horsepower to try and dethrone the 3 Series. Heck by 2009 or 2010 I don't even want to think about where BMW will be with their turbo development. I can promise you one thing that 3.0 liter I6 twin turbo will still be the one to beat!!!

After seeing the new 3 coupe/cabrio i can say that it's rivals MB,Audi,Lexus,Infiniti can easily over take it.

THe real plain or bland design is not Lexus IS's but this time it's BMW's 3 coupe/cabrio.

And u all know about toyota/Lexus that once they overtake anyone they don't step back or get beaten.They contineously wins.

Believe or not IS is the true winner in it's CLass/category.And after this Coupe's intro,Lexus IS will not give any chance to it's competitors.

The IS design is so great that if Lexus only just remove that rear two doors,they can come up with a great coupe.

They might as well remove the rear seats. Once this is in coupe or convertable form, the rear seats are practically useless, so why not make it into a S2000 rival.

I give it 7/10, not stunning, but nice to look at and thats pretty much it.
