Porsche's Cajun Confirmed For Production In Leipzig
The hot topic lately with Porsche has been the upcoming Cajun, which is intended to be a baby Porsche aimed at a younger demographic. Considering the company has said it should be "Light and easy to handle," we can't knock it if it lives up to Porsche's core values.

However, we're pretty sure purists are not too happy about it. Think of it this way: if there isn't something like the Cajun, Cayenne and Panamera there to bring cash in to keep cars like the 911 and 917 in production and under development, then Porsche would fail to exist.

Porsche has confirmed construction of its new Cajun baby SUV will take place in Leipzig.

The firm will extend the facility where the Cayenne and Panamera models are currently built to accommodate the Cajun, leading to the creation of more than 1000 jobs...

Is this suppose to be Porsche's version of the inbred VW GTI?

oops, I mean the Tiguan, which is also based on the GTI/Golf.

I really hope it's not called the 'Cajun'.

Or maybe rebadged Q5. What are the chances of straight six engines in Cajun?

I am tired of this "purist" label! If the newbies are keeping the brand afloat by injecting much needed cash into the pipeline wouldn't they be the standard bearers and not the old guard whose time has come and gone?? Don't they DESERVE the "purist" tag line now??? I mean how could you be a "purist" if YOU kill a brand???

A purist in any way would want something of its interest to vanish or disappear. Being a purist or a hard headed person is two different things. Nowadays there are many things about the brand that I don't agree with, but in other hand I need to recognize that if it’s not this way, what would have happened since the water cooled engines?
Long live Porsche! Who else like you?

Wake me up from the business school nightmare that is now Porsche. Let me guess...15% annual projected growth of the brand for the next 20 years. And they could give a crap about what products they are building.

A German car with the name Cajun just isn't right.....

I guess Carrera is no more Germanic (and neither are Panamera, Cayenne, and Cayman).
