RENDERED SPECULATION: Is A Harder Edged 2013 BMW 3-Series What You're Looking For?
Currently the king of sales in the entry-level premium segment, the E90 BMW 3-Series has rung the cash register big time. But all good things must come to an end, as the 3-Series is at the end of its product life cycle. So, time to bring out the big guns and follow this sucker up.
With that said, yet another artist's rendering has been drawn up depicting what could be the next-generation 3-Series.
Are you digging it or is it a bit too squared off?
What do YOU want the upcoming 3-Series to have and NOT have?

Wow. If it's anywhere close to that, checkmate again.

I'd far prefer to see a baby 5/7 series, rather than for BMW to try something new. The current 5 and 7 are reasonably handsome and good looking cars, no need for something radically different.

Still not enough of a change in direction. Years ago BMW's plans always
called for a major change in styling and underpinnings every third model generation. BMW and Audi are now content (read scared) with minor
evolutionary change with Mercedes being a bit more daring. As a long term BMW owner I'm ready for someting new !

BMW EVO. The inner portion of the headlight housing is exactly like the EVO X.
It will have that Shark look which is a good thing IMO.
Now lets hope they step up the hardware some with stuff like Dual-Clutch Transmissions, Limited-Slip Differentials, Brembo-Brakes, Torque-Vectoring AWD systems, Bilstein Shocks, Eibach Springs, Aluminum, Hood Roof and Fenders. You know.... The stuff that the EVO X has.
And lets also hope that they put back the DipStick and the Spare tire (can the runflats), ditch that iDrive system, offer 18" wheels as standard.

Also 2.0 liter Turbo 4 is a good choice of engine. The Japanese have been using that config forever.

Likely M-Sport will be that aggressive , base model will be doped down like current base 5.

Very nice looking and it helps me pinpoint what I've found a little disappointing about the overly-rounded new 6 series coupe.

I must agree somewhat with the "EVO" styling of the headlights...not my favorite, but then again I didn't immediately love the most recent e90 permutation when it first rolled out either.
That being said...asking BMW to give up iDrive is a moot point. It won't happen, even the newest Mini's have a derivative of it.

hot rendering! I may just get the sedan instead of waiting for the coupe when my 09 coupes lease is up in 2012

As SharkPhi said,I'm not a big fan of the" EVO styling headlights" either, but then again,it's just a rendering,so I'm sure BMW will come up with something really innovative and aggressive.
