Photo: New BMW M3 Sedan spotted in LA today

A. Kuhn, a proud M5 E60 owner, spotted the BMW M3 Sedan in a convoy, de-badged, on Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles this morning, June 19, 2006.

He chatted with the driver of the convoy's last car who confirmed it was the BMW M3 Sedan not yet in release.

M BMW's dont have chrome around the windows.

Its Black Shadowline Trim and ALWAYS has been.

If this was a REAL M3 Sedan.....the chrome wouldnt be there.

Are we sure it isnt that 335i sedan thats been going across the country from dealer to dealer ????

This Ive actually confirmed is true.

Most likely it's the M3 Sedan.

No quads ?

No Lip ?

No shadowline trim ?

No Giant M Air Outlet in the back ?

And more importantly.....we havent gotten the M3 coupe....so why would BMW be rushing the sedan just yet. The M3 is still a ways off. So testing this car in America seems very premature.

I think this is the 335i sedan.

the photo is crappy, it doesn't show a damn thing except that it is a 3 series sedan.

Widen rear wheels etc, can be a user modd, you can simply buy those wheels online etc etc. Didn't autospies posted an article saying BMW WON'T produce a M3 Sedan (even tho it was rumored). And yes there is a new 335i Sedan, at least it should be coming to the states.

ak, were u the one who took the pic? Cuz I don't see any description of engine sounds etc. maybe the different "sound" was a result of the new turbos on the 335i.

...jumping to conclusions.

If you read the statement, it says one of the convoy drivers told the photographer it was the new M3.

And yes, while it does not look like an M3, did anyone stop and think that this might be a mule? M3 running gear hidden under an unassuming 330?

Sounds like readers are the ones jumping to conclusions.

people........this could still be an M3, granted the pictures are less than thrilling, but you don't know what lurks under the hood. They are probably engine/suspension testing, they aren't going to do shadowline trim and all the other M goodies on a test mule. Think a little bit.

you've got a point there.......I'm just not sure what it is.

Wouldn't it have a wider track like the current M3 Coupe. The M3 Coupe has a wider track than the normal coupes. The car shown doesn't seem to have the wider track etc thing.
It would be ideal and logical to have a wider track for enhanced balance and cornering ability.
