Volkswagen wants to expand van segment, increase profitability
Volkswagen AG is aiming for its van operations to become more profitable and to increase its deliveries this year. To achieve its goal, VW is stepping up its offerings in non-European markets for the expansion. At a press conference in Hanover, Germany, Wolfgang Schreiber, head of the unit, said that the commercial-vehicles division targets higher operating profit than last year's 232 million euros ($324 million).

Should have done this years ago with the concept MicroBus. Bring that and the Bulli to production and ditch the Routan/Caravan.

The new Microbus concept isn't even a real van...no sliding doors, no 3rd row, and smaller than it looks. Bring back the 2001 concept!

Im sure the final production version will be greatly watered down...think Routan body on Passat frame. YUCK.
