They May Look GREAT In Pics But WHAT Premium Vehicle Is Truly A Letdown When You See It On The Streets?

They May Look GREAT In Pics But WHAT Premium Vehicle Is Truly A Letdown When You See It On The Streets?
One thing that has become a bit strange, at least from what I have noticed, is that cars which photograph horribly actually look quite good when seen in the flesh. For example, the Porsche Panamera is incredibly easy to pick apart when you see it in photos but when I saw for the first time it really opened up my eyes. Same can be said of the all-new 2011 Audi A8 that looked WAY too conservative at the New York Auto Show then looked killer on the Manhattan streets.

However, there are a few cars that have the opposite effect.

You know the ones that look like rock stars with studio lighting but God forbid you actually get it on the street. Then you notice that big ol' lump on its hood.

Can you think of some premium vehicles that you saw on the street and made you say "Oh, man. What a bummer!"

The current Lexus LS, I mean when it first came out I was amazed but the styling seems to be muted for me now. At least when I see them around the streets currently.

Oh and the Tesla Sports Car

ohhh, good one.

The Tesla is definitely one of the lamest cars on the streets when you see it in person.

The Maybach. On the street it just look very dated and nothing special.

Cars that I didn't like in pix but came to appreciate "in the metal": Panamera, Audi A7, Jag XJ. A car I wished that its interior/exterior looked a better match for its price and awesome performance: Nissan GTR.

The new 6 Series BMW Convertible was a letdown seeing it in person. Same for the Infiniti M.

Mercedes SLS. In real looks nothing more than a normal Mercedes SL or even a Viper.

The Audi A8 is soo boring. Take away the annoying LED lights and it would stand out no more than a Buick.

I'm around some of the most rarest and exotic cars in the world including the Veyron and so forth. Every ferrari and lambo look better to me in person than pics. The Murcielago in person is pure heaven. Bentleys are crappy in person,Astons are gorgeous and although I'm not a huge fan of Porsche, the GT3's and GT2's catch my eye. I had the Lotus Evora in my shop a week after it came out and I walked right by it. Vipers make me smile and GT-R's including mine,in the right color, will get a walk around from me. Maseratis depending on model and color will get a glance from me. Color has a HUGE effect on how a car looks. a Supersport Bentley looks like a "nice" car (compared to the other cars we have) in silver, but throw on candy red paint and I drool all over it. Also EVERY single car in the world looks 10x better in a showroom than it does once you leave that showroom. I'm sure its the lighting and setting. The SLS is cool with doors open, boring with them closed. The viper ACR to me had more presence than most cars. A8's,7 series, S classes to me = boring. Driving them is nice, but when your around the cars I am,these are like seeing any other car. Although Mariano Riveras S-class is niiiceee. We did a custom kit on it and it came out great. They Veyron wasnt what I expected it to be. It does look amazing, but a 458 italia would get more stares from me.

Oh and while on the topic. The Jag XJ in person is the most beautiful and elegant 4 door on the market interior and exterior wise. I'll take it any day over any luxary sedan. Throw on some tints ans you are riding one bad ass car. A customer painted his red and added some alcantara inside and it was drop dead gorgeous.

The maserati granturismo vert is a POS when your behind the wheel. This is a case where looks can be decieving. Its tranny is harsh and annoying. Steering has no feel. If I wanted to get whiplash during every up/down shift I'd drive a gallardo.

The front of that Bentley looks like a 70's chevy Monte Carlo. It's ugly and out of place with the rest of the body. At least the 70's Monte Carlo's front end flowed with the rest of the body. The front of the Mulsane is just hideous.
