Recall Of Another Kind: GM Asks 2,000 UAW Workers To Come Back To Work

General Motors Co. will recall the final 2,000 workers on lay off by fall, Joe Ashton, UAW vice president in charge of GM and gaming locals, said today.

"Those people will all be back at work in September," Ashton said at the UAW bargaining convention in Detroit. The three-day event for more than 1,200 delegates and others wraps up Thursday.
