Ford To Take Number One Sales Spot In US In March
ord Motor Co. is poised to be the top U.S. auto seller in March, surpassing General Motors Co. for only the second time since 1998, according to projections by auto information company Edmunds.com.

Ford, which has steadily gained market share in recent years, knocking Toyota Motor Corp. from the second spot, last led the nation in sales back in February 2010.

Does this now mean that FORD builds the best cars in the world?

Hell no. Sales don't make a vehicle or company number 1. Remember how shitty they first and second generation Ford explorers were, and they outsold everyone, when the 4 runner was light years ahead in the quality department, especially the interior. I know it was sarcasm so I give you a +1

Ford builds better cars then they used to. Saying that cars are still way too heavy. The Mustang still has a solid rear axle. Ford still rely's on Volvo architecture for it's midsize and sedans as well as SUV's. I think they are relaying too much on Sync to sell cars.I think it's a safety concern. They still have recalls with some of their trucks. But they have made huge strides in reliability and quality. Further with the Mustang, the new Focus and Fiesta they have created some desirability as well.I think that the new GM is starting to show signs of shifting away from product R & D to incentives to get market share. This was the mistake they made before they want B.K. I think Ankerson is going in the wrong direction. Further it hurts the resale market by pushing down values.

GM is hitting and missing. Buick is coming out with some great alternatives to those who want something nicer, more stylish, and more luxurious than a camry or fusion, but don't want to spend the money for the equivalent Lexus. Ford has made a great car with the muxtang and has done what no-one thought was possible with a live axle rear end. The next gen focus can't get here fast enough, as the current is the third version of the original, while europe has had a couple newer ones, based on the Volvo c30. The Taurus is promising, but Ford is trying to move their vehicles too up market to beat out Camry and Accord, but don't realize they are shooting themselves in the foot because their current cars are approaching Lincoln luxuries, and with Lincoln relying on re-badged or freshened fords and no Lincoln specific models like the LS used to be, people who have at least somewhat of a clue will wonder why even bother with Lincoln other than the name when a Flex platinum has everything the Lincoln equivalent has. I.E. The MKX is almost identical to the edge, except for a different grill and headlights. They need to work harder to differentiate it from the edge the way Buick made the enclave look different with different fenders, body lines etc. From the side you can't tell if it is an MKX or Edge except for the Lincoln badge on the wheels. Chrysler has some promising designs. the Charger looks great, the Cherokee and Durango are also looking bright. The 200/Avenger are a sad case of using Duct tape and Kleenex to clean up the mistake they made with the original that debuted a couple years ago. Toyota needs more style and soul, and Honda is just plain making ugly cars. The current civic was the last of their good looking cars. Hyundai is on the move and is a force to be feared by the above mentioned. Nissan needs some updates but is kind of low key, but that's better than having the negative attention that Toyota and Honda are getting. VW needs to go back to the drawing board with the Jetta and make a stylish and great handling European alternative to Japan and America's big three with a better interior like the previous Jetta and Passat/CC were. The current Golf and CC are the only attractive cars in their stable, and for goodness sake get rid of the Chrysler based minivan.
