RUMOR: Audi's Next-Gen S8 To Feature A TT'd V8?

Like BMW's M division or Mercedes-Benz's AMG outfitter, some of Audi's coolest and wildest products reside within their S-line. And now that the new A8 has made its appearance, the next-generation S8 is due to arrive.

But unlike the previous generation that used a Lamborghini-based V10, the upcoming version will have a twin-turbo V8, much like the new Mercedes-Benz S63 and upcoming BMW M5. Power is said to hover around 520 horsepower.

What it is: The sportiest version of the Audi A8. While the previous S8 had a Lamborghini-based 5.2-liter V-10, the new S8 has a twin-turbo V-8.

Why it matters: Audi’s last S8 didn’t exactly wow us, and this one has a bunch of new competitors. But, based on our experience with the new A8, things look promising for the top Audi sedan....

Should be much quicker than the last S8 as the current 372 horsepower regular A8 is about as quick as the V10 S8.
