Defintely had a great passion for cars. His writing about the 95 M3 was one of the things that got me excited about that car and helped convince me to buy one. He was also an innovator with his winding road online magazine long before many established car magazines even had a web site! He will be missed.

Actually David E. was endorsing BMW's about 20 years prior to any M3. In the '90's, BMW may have stood out, but nothing like it was in 1970 or '71.
I was lucky enough to own a couple of early '70's BMW's--2002tii and a Bavaria--thanks to the kudos Davis lavished on a fledgling manufacturer, BMW.
I will miss this guy. He was a driver/racer before he was a writer. I was impressed by all of it. R.I.P.
