Seems very few manufacturers want to offer fun goodies in cars. They may be offering nice appointments but consider this:

The new Jetta GLI has ditched the LED taillamps and HID headlights, a step backwards from the last model, all the while not increasing hp one bit.

The upcoming new Ford Focus in Europe has HID headlamps with LED DRL's, you won't find such an item in the US versions with their aged optics.

I'm amazed that with LED and HID technology being around for well over a decade that we are still so far behind the europeans who practically require HID projectors and LED lamps in most of their models nowadays.

Although you can still order these parts from dealers overseas by utilizing message boards and underground contacts. If I bought a Focus I'd be the first to retrofit the European lamps on my car.

The tradeoff being that they are adding all the bluetooth and ipod connections and computer crap inside, but maybe I want my exterior to look good instead of worrying about interior gizmos. Different option packages would be nice.
