SPYSHOT: BMW developing Mercedes-Benz CLS beater?

About a year ago, we told you BMW was considering a CLS-like product for their stable and from this AutoBild photo, it looks like BMW is getting serious about producing it.

We say it will be a stretched 6-series.

"moves further ahead" Yeah , that's why they trying to beat the CLS , the SL, The R class, The GL... Sorry man You are completly Wrong , They are following the Lead Of MB. No Arguments for that. Why are they trying to Beat CLS: Because they are seen that there is no other car like that on the Market CLS 63 Rules and that includes your M5...M.... that Hurts...

Can't beat the CLS. I don't really care for MB, I'm a BMW fan, but the CLS is slick, that's all there is to it. Driving dynamics give me the M5, if I wanted to roll in class the CLS is the way to go.

If the six series is already heavy and bloated, how will adding inches and making it a four door possibly compete with the slick, chopped top look of the Merc CLS.

Both vehicles (Merc CLS and this BMW extended coupe)are a waste of engineering resources, and I don't understand how they help either manufacturer make more money. Ooops I forgot Mercedes doesn't make money.

I did not say that everybody is trying to beat MB. I say BMW is following the lead of MB, and even if you disagree, is a fact.

That's a Fact , and MB have an other orientation. Bimers, most of time will be lighter, and that should be in that way if you like nimble cars. In the other hand MB is always looking for security and comfort like main goals and that will result in a heavier car. E63 or CLS63 will kick any Bimer on Straight line but in turning fight, Bimer will be the winner and the diference in both cases, straight line or curvy road, will be so small that at the end you will be driving the car that you realy like...no matter what are the advantages or weakeness... Hey I like Benzes, but does not means that I hate you because you like Bimers Engineering, which of course is great because is always setting new standards. But We have to give credit to cadillac, may be their system was not perfect, but yes, they put that in the market before every body and that have a merit even if we do not like. (infrared system).
