BMW M reveals the new M3 CSL!!

Ok more LIVE coverage from the BMW M event in Germany! Moving on from the M3 Pick-up, BMW has now shown off a new M3 concept car based on the E90 M3 Sedan. This particular concept is destined for the recently announced Nurburgring M Festival later in the year.

The main idea behind this concept is lightweight. Think BMW M3 CSL reborn. The sedan is stripped out, but unforunatly BMW has not put out any details on what the car's weight is or other specifics. They did say that the concept is intended to slot in between the standard M3 and the focused M3 GTS, will have a limited production run, and include several surprises. I guess we will just have to wait for the M Festival in June, where BMW intends to fully reveal this car.

Probably another April Fools thing but if not I'm surprised they'd do this with the sedan and not the coupe, which sells in better numbers and has a CFRP roof already.

I had the same thought JRob. I found this post by Scott26(bmw insider) on bimmerpost.com, but I guess they will do a special version of the coupe also.

These silly April fools jokes have to stop. Every April some bogus automotive news hits Autospies, Autoblog etc. - it's getting OLD and REPETITIVE. We know it's an April fools so please save yourself the trouble of writing such articles, photoshopping the appropriate pictures and posting it here!

I admit I didn't bother reading the article. I assumed this was a joke since I expected BMW to have the better sense not to offer such a hideous color on the 3er!
